Adjusting Morozko pH
Below 6.5
Above 7.5

Mix 1/4 cup magnesium carbonate into your ice bath.

Wait one hour.
-
Remeasure pH.
-
Repeat until pH measures between 6.5-7.0.

Add 4-5 2L bottles of seltzer water to your ice bath.

Remeasure pH.
-
Repeat until pH measures between 6.5 -7.0.
Magnesium Carbonate is slow to dissolve but is very effective for raising pH.
One 2L bottle of seltzer water will bring the pH of a 72” Morozko ice bath down about 0.2 pH units.
When pH is ...
Shocking Your Morozko
Only shock your system if you need to reduce your pH quickly.

Mix 250mL of Sulfuric Acid into the ice bath.

Let sit for 5-10 minutes.

Remeasure your pH and repeat until pH reads between 6.5 and 7.
One 1L bottle of sulfuric acid will bring the pH of a 72” Morozko ice bath down about 3 pH units.
* DO NOT ADD MURIATIC, HYDROCHLORIC or NITRIC ACID *
Should you choose to add Epsom salt to your ice bath, only sulfuric acid will be compatible.
